I recently had the opportunity to chat with John Oszajca of the Music Marketing Manifesto.com; John's a singer/songwriter/musician who's been signed to a major deal, went independent and embraced marketing to carve out a successful career for himself today.
He now splits his time between LA and New Zealand and makes music on his own terms. John shares what he learns by teaching direct response marketing for musicians with the Music Marketing Manifesto 2.0 training and consulting services.
We dug deep into how he got to where he is today and John revealed a lot of tips that will be useful to anyone looking to 'make it' in the music business. John doesn't hold back and reveals the other side of the music business that most of us never see.
About halfway through he states that Marketing is Power which I think is a great concept for musicians to embrace so that they can succeed as well.
"As an artist all I want is an audience. Whether that audience is 200 strong or 200,000 strong - it's secondary to the fact that you do have an audience and that's what I'm teaching people how to do."
