The goal of the Indie Band Alliance is to grow a community of musicians from the grassroots level, with the aim of helping each other and improving the music scene in their town(s). By pooling our resources, sharing the knowledge and working together, we can achieve more than we ever could on our own. Here are some of the ways we can start this movement.
- Anti-competition philosophy – in short this means that musicians/groups need to stop worrying about competing and work together to achieve more.
- A band is a business – if you’re serious about getting anywhere in the music industry- you have to learn the business end of things. The first step is being professional.
- Technology is our friend – the internet and MP3 downloads are rendering commercial t.v. and radio obsolete as we speak. It also gives every single one of us the opportunity to reach a global audience 24/7/365. Embrace it or go the way of the dinosaur.
